One time versus reoccurring donations.

Are you trying to decide if you want to do a reoccurring donation or just donate one time? Of course all donations are helpful. One time donations are great for one time needs such as urgent medical situations, or repairs and improvements to facilities. The nature of the projects of HOHA make reoccurring donation commitments especially valuable. Projects like children's homes and schools accrue a steady stream of expenses to provide food and other essentials. In the past some projects have needed to be shut down, because even though a generous initial donation got the project well underway, there was no continuing commitment to keep the project going. Short term help can end up hurting because a dependency is created that can't be dropped easily. Consider the example of rescuing an abandoned baby. It is a long term commitment to provide for the baby/child until it is old enough to care for itself.   The goal of Harvest of Hope International is to only expand existing projects and new projects after there are sufficient commitments to support those new operations. By selecting a sponsorship you enable reaching more people without hurting them later. We understand that financial situations change over time. Donors are able to cancel subscriptions at any time. To make it easier to remember to donate regularly we are able to set up automatic credit card or ACH payments. ACH is preferred because there is no cost. The exact amount you donate, ends up in Africa. Credit cards on the other hand are subject to a 2.9% fee plus 30 cents per transaction. May God bless you for your interest in Harvest of Hope Africa.
